Prefill on your computer

Prefill opens the application in a browser on your computer with your details and resume already filled in — you check it and press Submit. It needs a small helper installed once. checking…

…Needs Python 3.9+ from python.org (tick “Add python.exe to PATH” in its installer). Takes a few minutes the first time. It creates a folder called DirectApply in your home folder. Every time you want PrefillDouble-click DirectApply → Start Direct Apply.command and leave that window open, then press here once. Chrome will ask permission to reach your computer — allow it. From then on this page shows a Prefill button on every posting it can fill (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Eightfold; Workday is switched off for now).

Answers Prefill has learned

When you close a prefilled application, the answers you left in it are saved here. The next form that asks the same question gets your answer verbatim; new questions go to Gemini with these as examples (it declines when your facts don't decide it). Delete anything that is wrong or job-specific.

Daily scan

Once a day every employer's job board in the shared inventory is read again, new postings are matched to your searches, and postings a board no longer lists are marked gone. A search you save or change is matched against the inventory at once; fit scores for the new matches follow in a few minutes.

Directory scan (admin)

The daily scan: a backup copy of the inventory, then every board in the directory read on the cron job, every posting stored, each user's matches tagged as boards answer, missing postings of boards that answered marked gone (a board answering with under half its last count is left alone), then descriptions and fit scores for what reaches each user's To review.
